The S-2012A 2000 watt InverCharge by Samlex is not only an inverther but also contains a powerful 80A smart charger. It Actually contains three modules in a single unit: Inverter, Charger, and Quick transfer switch. The S-2012A inverter is a heavy duty continuous working module generating a sinusoidal wave from a 12 volt battery bank, which can supply energy to various loads such as resistive load(heater) inductive load(air conditioner, refrigerator) electric motors(vacuum cleaners), and rectifier loads(computers) All S series Invercharge inverters are designed with the extreme duty cycle in mind. De-rating is not necessary, as it will provide a rapid and complete charge thought the charge process.

The internal smart charger can be set with different charge profiles and battery capacities in mind. The swithc module automatically diverts the energy transfer path between the inveter and utility source. When the utility source is lower than the transfer level, the path switches to the inverter. Otherwise the load is conducted to the utility source. The transfer time is .25-.50 of the total cycle time. The internal 80 amp charger can charge a 12v 1000 ah battery pack in about 14 hours. An example: the S-2012A with a 1000 ah battery bank can supply a 2000w workload for about 6 hours after a 14 hour charge.
