Since you can see the affected cell on a motorcycle battery, will the charger attack and repair that single cell?

I have 8 L16 (24 volt) system with 700 amp hours hooked up series/parallel to run off grid cabin.Is there a way i can desulfation all these battery ? They were installed in 2008

How long does it take for a 24 AGM battery to become damaged when left being charged ? I was away on holiday for 5 weeks and had left my battery on charger during that time. On my return, my battery has , for 2 rounds of golf, failed to recharge when put back onto the charger. Is this to be expected, and what can I do to ‘mend -it’ and restore The batery to its normal state ? The battery is just over 1 year (13 months) old.
