Pros: The charger is pretty simple, I like that you can plug it in, connect it, and walk away. I've been told it's safe to leave even for a year at a time.

Cons: The lights are a tad confusing to interpret. There is a sticker on the back of the charger that explains it, though.

Other Thoughts: My father purchased it for his Cadillac, which isn't driven very often. The battery is pretty old, but the Tender keeps it charged enough to start it when we need to (instead of jumping the car every time).

(9 of 10 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: I bought two of these chargers to maintain batteries at both of my garages. The cord disconnect feature is great for allow quick hook up/disconnect to multiple vehicles. I bought extra fuse protected battery leads and a long lead to allow me to connect down in a covered boat battery compartment while covered. Now I don't have to remove batteries for charging and can rotate the charger between boat, tractor, truck, lawn mower and motorcycle with one simple connection.

Cons: Seems a bit pricey but has a excellent warranty and features plus a great reputation.

Other Thoughts: I purchased after brother's recommendation that since using this one on his boat battery he has not had to replace it since 2004. His neighbor uses the cheapo Harbor Freight charger and has to change his boat battery every year or so and finds it low or out of water often.

   12V Battery Tender Plus
By on Jan 20, 2012, Ownership: Just Bought, Knowledge Level: Electricity doesn't scare me.. usually
(6 of 7 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: Small, compact, simple and extremely easy to setup, use and understand. Doesn't get much simpler and does the job.

Cons: I'm old school ... need lots of flashing lights and stuff! Has one red light for charging and one green for storage. Geeezzze ... wheres the cool in that? :)

Other Thoughts: Using to keep the excellent Scorpion battery (also from BatteryStuff.com)for my Harley bagger charged while its going through its Winter makeover ... (read) parts covering the garage floor.

Pros: Small, economical, does it all. Easy to plug in to my 'cigarette lighter' It couldn't be any easier than this.

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: I bought a used Porsche Boxster and the salesman (and some of my friends) highly suggested getting a battery tender to keep my battery fresh and usable. I took their advice, and couldn't be happier. The first time I hooked it to the car...it took quite a while to charge the battery (so I knew the battery was low) Now it takes no time to top off the battery and keep me starting like a champ. I am very very happy with this product

   12 Volt Battery Tender Plus
By on Dec 05, 2011, Ownership: Use regularly, Knowledge Level: AC/DC is more than a band
(9 of 9 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: It is extremely simple to use. The connectors & the tender are both very solidly constructed. It does not take up much room at all. It provides very useful length cables. The operational lights are absolutely simple to understand. If you can read, you can use it right out of the package, (but you should read it first.) The built-in safety features are really well thought out!

Cons: Free shipping would be nice, but not really critical at all.

Other Thoughts: I have now bought a maintenance free battery from BatteryStuff.com with a whopping amount of cold cranking amps, (380) that starts my old Shovelhead with amazing ease, considering it runs on straight 50w or 60w depending on what time of the season it is & I have bought a great compact battery tender that I am really impressed with. Dealing with your company personnel has been a pleasure & I recommend BatteryStuff.com to all of my friends with power sports equipment.

   Good buy (so far)
By on Mar 24, 2012, Ownership: Just Bought, Knowledge Level: Genius is my way of life
(5 of 5 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: I just bought this, so I don't want to go overboard and overrate it, but so far so good. The only reason why I purchased it is because my old Battery Tender, which was about fifteen years old, was stolen. It's a well-built product. The connectors on this one are better. It comes with a standard set of alligator-type clips and also a set which you can leave hooked up at all times. This makes it really convenient and this version has a cap. My old one didn't, which made me a little concerned when I rode through water or in the rain. It's really easy to use and a good price. Ordering was easy and it arrived quickly.

Cons: None so far.

Battery Tender Plus & Battery Tender Jr.
By on Sep 26, 2013, Ownership: Just Bought, Knowledge Level: AC/DC is more than a band
(3 of 3 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: Recently bought 3 Battery Tender Plus units for the batteries in the boat and 2 Battery Tender Jr. models for lawn tractor and ATV all are performing as advertised.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Nice to find a company that follows through with what it advertises about itself. Had good service and order was correct and arrived within time expected. Keep up the good work. By the way this is the first time I have felt that I could honestly tell others about a good experience in dealing with a company that does what it advertises. Thanks

Pros: nice compact operates well

Cons: the fuse holder on the wiring you leave connected to the battery is to close too the ring terminal and won't fit in my battery compartment. I had to splice a longer wire on it to fit.

More than just a Battery Tender
By on Aug 13, 2013, Ownership: Use regularly, Knowledge Level: AC/DC is more than a band
(1 of 1 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: A compact light weight battery tender that has output cord options and a insulated terminal cover to protect it from shorting. I can have it plugged into an outlet in one spot in my garage and have leads long enough to run down into the battery compartment of my 22' boat and short enough to clamp onto lawn tractor battery with my pickup parked between them.

Cons: Maybe could use some heavy duty suction cup base rests to keep it from sliding off smoother work bench tops, boat decks, ect.

Other Thoughts: A must for boat, motor cycle, lawn tractor and owners of part time used cars, trucks and other 12 volt "man toys".

Pros: Very extensive educational opportunity to understand what I needed prior to purchase. Easy ordering process prompt confirmation of order shipping cost reasonable no tax a real plus quick delivery product performed as expected

Cons: directions not a detailed as I would have liked More visuals of components would have been appreciated

Other Thoughts: Online videos of how to hook up would be appreciated. Would like to see more videos included in you "knowledge base" would really be helpful as I want to use the tender to charge RV battery from an inverter/generator and possibly purchase an RV solar kit. As I am a visual learner videos would go a long way in my understanding of using equipment I intend to purchase.

   Pure Awesomeness
By on May 02, 2014, Ownership: I've thought about naming it..., Knowledge Level: AC/DC is more than a band

Pros: This battery tender is absolutely pure awesomeness. She works with my GTO (AGM Batt), 3/4 GMC 2500HD, my wife's Accord, and little red (my front loader/4wd tractor). She never fails and is always reliable regardless of the battery type she is on. I am close to giving her a name. Heck, I call it "her" already. Customer service at BatteryStuff is also always reliable. You guys and gals are great. I am 100% confident that it will work.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Go ahead and get at least one extra set of the permanent post attachments as well as the 25' extension. You'll be glad you invested in them. They add a great deal of versatility.

What a great product and experience
By on Apr 09, 2014, Ownership: Just Bought, Knowledge Level: Electricity doesn't scare me.. usually

Pros: The Battery Tender plus is a great product for maintaining my modest little car collection. It's also great for my tractor as well as for my truck. Very versatile with the different types of charging connections included and available. Very competitive price. Even with the shipping it was still less than going to WalMart and paying for gas, tax etc., plus you can get all of your accessories at the same time, which I wasn't going to be able to do at my local stores where I live. The biggest pro is the great customer service at batterystuff.com. I had a minor packaging issue. Patrick took care of it and in less than 15 minutes a replacement clip was literally on it's way out of their door & on it's way here. Seriously,

Cons: All is well. No problems. If there were, you would have done whatever it took to fix it.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Patrick. You and the the shipping staff are AWESOME ! I was treated with respect, courteously and, most important of all, you honestly gave a crap about my little issue. You have earned my business for the rest of my days. I wish I had found and bought from your store sooner. Thank you, again.

   Battery Tender Plus
on Nov 14, 2013, Ownership: Just Bought, Knowledge Level: Electricity doesn't scare me.. usually

Pros: Keeps the battery in my rarely driven Chevy S-10 charged and ready to go. Much better alternative than having to get a jump start every time I need the use of this vehicle.

Cons: The ring terminals provided are just a bit too small for use with my top of the line Interstate batteries side terminals. Without drilling them out to a larger opening, they are esentially worthless to me! I have opted to purchase the 12' extension cord and cigarette lighter adapter rather than having to go under the hood and fool with those damn little alligator clips!

Other Thoughts: Overall, after ending up spending nearly $100., including the extension cord, cigarette lighter adapter and large storage case,(to keep everything together and organized),I now have found a solution that works for me in resolving what was an ongoing issue with a rarely used vehicle. Understand that needs and solutions may differ, but generally speaking, this seems to be a well made and useful product. You can have all the jumper cables in the world, but "Murphy's Law" being what it is, there will never be anyone around to give you that jump when you need it. Keep your battery operating at an optimal level with a Battery Tender!
