The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is the ultimate in weight versus power technology. This battery weighs in at only 1.61 pounds and offers an incredible 210 C.C.A. This is a drop in replacement for your Lead-acid battery, and will require no change to your stock charging system.
Shorai LFX batteries contain Shorai-proprietary eXtreme-Rate Lithium Iron prismatic cells (chemistry LiFePO4). They contain no poisonous lead, no acid, and do not create gasses during charge, as traditional Lead-Acid batteries do. Compared to lead-acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are also extremely light, have much lower self-discharge, do not sulfate, and are environmentally friendly.
This is the heavy duty LFX14L2-BS12 battery. It offers an incredible 210 C.C.A., and the Lead-Acid Equivalent of 14 amp hours. It weighs in at only 1.61 pounds and yet still has the power to spin over even the most stubborn engines. Not only does this battery offer incredible advantaged over the lead-acid battery in weight, but also in physical size. This battery will effectively take the place of a YTX14AHL-BS in power, but it is not larger than a YTX4l battery.
When it comes to Powersports applications and lithium batteries, BatteryStuff.com recommends that you use the best, most powerful version that will properly fit your application. Shorai may list several battery sizes in their application chart that will fit your bike, but in our opinion the small gains in weight are typically offset by she superior starting power offered in the upgraded versions. Should you not require the most powerful version, see the LFX09L2-BS12 for the less potent lithium alternative for this battery. It will be the exact same dimensions and terminal location as our recommended battery, but with a bit less capacity.

Pros: Found I had one sitting in the box in the garage for 9 months. At first I though" Where's the battery?" because it is so small and light. I installed it, using up all the sticky-back foam to fill up the rest of the battery box. Bike started BETTER than with the nearly new lead/acid battery I just took out and have been using all week. Amazed it held the charge - never used - for 9 months. Bought 2 more for my other bikes.
Cons: What to do with all the extra space in the battery box? Fortunately they supply lots of stick back foam to fill up that space.
Other Thoughts: No more worry about acid. Better, stronger charge. Well worth the extra cost to no longer have to worry about the battery. I read so many postings of people with starting and charging problems - after they bought the wrong battery or a cheap-o WallyMart one. No worry about the acid drain tube being on the correct side of the bike - there is no acid any more (seen too many people buy batteries with drain tube on the left side - drains out when on the side stand!)

Pros: With this battery my engine cranks like never before. starts so quickly, im scared im keeping the starter engage too long. Company was outstanding. I used thier online (talk to a real person) help service twice... both times it was fast and accurate.
Cons: I have to cut my battery lid to attach the charger with out having to remove two fasteners. No fault of the battery or charger, I just don't want to remove the battery lid to charge every six months... maybe I should re-think this cut?
Other Thoughts: The packing, and terminal condition was outstanding. I now have a battery thats cushioned in protective padding on all but one side. I feel good about this vs the oem battery padding.

Pros: super light weight greater CCA than oem battery smaller than oem yet more juice! direct fit replacement
Cons: none as of yet, waiting on warm weather to ride.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking to lighten up your motorcycle and add stronger cranking, look no more, this baby fits right in same as oem and will not need charging even after sitting for up to 18 months! This battery was for a 2011 Honda CBR1000RR and is at least 5 pounds lighter than oem.

Pros: This battery is worth the pricetag. I wouldn't have believed how tiny it was until I held it in my hand, it actually brought me to a small level of mad giggles it was, well just cute. Also it works, which makes it a lot better than my old battery. To be fair, any new battery probably would have, but I expect long term success. I bought this battery because now that I live in a condo, plugging into the tender means removing the battery as I have no outlet in my carport, and did not want to mess with that.
Cons: Well the battery is tiny, but unless you are craft to mount it somewhere else you just have to fill all that space with foam. So unless the missing minimal pounds is a huge bonus for you, this is actually not all that awesome of a feature. Besides the novelty aspect of your battery being described as cute.

Pros: We will see about the longevity, but for now, this battery impresses the hell out of me. The night before installing it, I left it on the kitchen counter and could not help picking it up every time I walked by. Taking out the (failing) AGM battery was like removing an 11 lb, tumor and replacing it with 1.5 lbs. of sweetness! Now my bike (GS650 Dakar) starts instantly, after sitting a week or more, with no more Battery Tender (apparently Li Iron stores better slightly depleted).
Cons: Nothing yet.
Other Thoughts: You will need every bit of padding included with the battery to fill-in all the open space in the battery compartment (not a bad thing!). The next time I am in there (it may be a looong time), I may replace the bottom padding with a block of styrofoam, leaving more cushy stuff to wrap around the sides. In any case, this is now one well-protected battery, baby!

Pros: Great little battery. It's lighter than my morning coffee! I bought this for my Yamaha V-Star 250 and it works great. I ended up buying their recommended charger for it as well and am glad I did. Bike starts right up no problems. Hopefully it will last for many, many years.
Cons: takes a bit to get the padding just right to make it fit, but it's really not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend to anyone else with a v-star. Great battery.

Pros: charged it when received in March 2012 Installed it on my bike which allways had problems with acid batteries. Can not remember the last time my bike started right away with first try. No problem starting my bike since.
Cons: non that matters.
Other Thoughts: great for outdoors too since it is so light to carry. Planning to use it on my fishing kayak to operate my fish finder

Pros: Went riding last weekend. Forgot to turn the gas on. This battery cranked for 3 times as long as my oem battery and still never gave up. I was afraid I was going to burn up my starter. Finally my son noticed the gas was off. This battery is AMAZING!!!!
Cons: None that I can think of?

Pros: This battery is super light, compact and very powerful. I recently tried a traditional wet cell and a gel battery in my rebuilt KTM SX. Neither could turn the engine over fast enough to fire the motor. I put in the Shorai and it started immediately.
Cons: Loses effectiveness in cold temperatures.
Other Thoughts: I will purchase another for my street bike this spring

Pros: This battery is amazing - very small and light yet started up my heavily modified motorcycle right away. I would highly recommend this battery and batterystuff.com to everyone.
Cons: Only con would be the battery cost if compared to regular battery costs. However, I will purchase more of these batteries.
