Based off our own testing we have chosen to carry the UPGRADED version of this battery: LFX14A2-BS12

LFX09A2-BS12 Shorai 12v 9 AH PBEq LiFePO4 Power Sports Battery [+ -]
Product Description

The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is the ultimate in weight versus power technology. This battery weighs in at only 1.01 pounds and offers an incredible 102 C.C.A. This is a drop in replacement for your Lead-acid battery, and will require no change to your stock charging system.

Shorai LFX batteries contain Shorai-proprietary eXtreme-Rate Lithium Iron prismatic cells (chemistry LiFePO4). They contain no poisonous lead, no acid, and do not create gasses during charge, as traditional Lead-Acid batteries do. Compared to lead-acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are also extremely light, have much lower self-discharge, do not sulfate, and are environmentally friendly.

When it comes to Powersports applications and lithium batteries, BatteryStuff.com recommends that you use the best, most powerful version that will properly fit your application. Shorai may list several battery sizes in their application chart that will fit your bike, but in our opinion the small gains in weight are typically offset by the superior starting power offered in the upgraded versions. For this reason BatteryStuff.com has chosen to only carry the more powerful version of this battery, see the LFX14A2-BS12. It will be the exact same dimensions and terminal location as Shorai recommended battery, but with a bit more capacity.

Lead acid batteries have long been a target with riders who want to take weight off of their motorcycle. With our Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, it is now possible to do away with the heavier lead acid battery, while maintaining reliable starting power. These are true drop in replacement batteries that will require no charging system modifications, and only weigh a fraction of the OEM battery.

*BatteryStuff understands the importance of getting a replacement battery right away and usually ships all batteries the same day as ordered if received before 1:30pm (Pacific), however USPS does not guarantee delivery times with priority mail.

Comments
We recommend using these batteries in temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius. This battery may require spacers to make it work in your application. Included with this battery are foam spacers that will aid in fitting this battery ** PbEq equals Lead-Acid Equivalent. This means that a 9 AH PbEq Lithium Iron Phosphate battery will perform the same as a 9 amp hour Lead-acid battery.

   Very Impressed

(2 of 3 customers found this review helpful)

Pros: The staff at BatteryStuff contacted me directly to confirm the order and we discussed the battery and my expected use. I was concerned this wouldn\'t turn over my CBR929RR but the battery was recommended so I gave it a shot. It arrived in just 2-3 days! I was very surprised at how light the box was and even more shocked at how light/small the actually battery was! No way this was going to turn over an open class sportbike BUT I WAS WRONG! Install was easy (using the supplied foam filler pads) and the bike fired right up. I\'ve ridden it for the past few weeks and no trouble starting at all! I\'m very impressed and these will be my \"go-to\" battery for my other bikes.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Thanks for great customer service ad a product that lives p to the hype!

   Fantastic Performance
By on Jun 29, 2014, Ownership: Use regularly, Knowledge Level: Genius is my way of life

Pros: I purchased this battery in 2012 in anticipation of using it in my Sidewinder F500 Race Car. It sat for 10 months before it was installed. I checked the charge level expecting it to be dead. Much to my surprise it was still fully charged. As of June 2014 it is still working fantastic. Light, powerful and reliable. I am purchasing 2 more for the other cars. Exceeded my expectations by a mile.

Cons: There is no down side to this product.
