The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is the ultimate in weight versus power technology. This battery weighs in at only 4.96 pounds and offers an incredible 540 C.C.A. This is a drop in replacement for your Lead-acid battery, and will require no change to your stock charging system.
Shorai LFX batteries contain Shorai-proprietary eXtreme-Rate Lithium Iron prismatic cells (chemistry LiFePO4). They contain no poisonous lead, no acid, and do not create gasses during charge, as traditional Lead-Acid batteries do. Compared to lead-acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are also extremely light, have much lower self-discharge, do not sulfate, and are environmentally friendly.
When it comes to Powersports applications and lithium batteries, BatteryStuff.com recommends that you use the best, most powerful version that will properly fit your application. Shorai may list several battery sizes in their application chart that will fit your bike, but in our opinion the small gains in weight are typically offset by the superior starting power offered in the upgraded versions. Should you not require the most powerful version, see the LFX27A3-BS12 for the less potent lithium alternative for this battery. It will be the exact same dimensions and terminal location as our recommended battery, but with a bit less capacity.
Lead acid batteries have long been a target with riders who want to take weight off of their motorcycle. With our Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, it is now possible to do away with the heavier lead acid battery, while maintaining reliable starting power. These are true drop in replacement batteries that will require no charging system modifications, and only weigh a fraction of the OEM battery.
*BatteryStuff understands the importance of getting a replacement battery right away and usually ships all batteries the same day as ordered if received before 1:30pm (Pacific).
In order to ship IATA imposed new Shipping Regulations regarding Lithium Batteries. Lithium Batteries being shipped are only charged to 30% of capacity. When you receive this battery it may need to be charged. This is the battery charger we recommend for this battery: Shorai 6v/12v 2 Amp LFX Series Lithium Battery Charger Sho-BMS01

We recommend using these batteries in temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius. This battery may require spacers to make it work in your application. Included with this battery are foam spacers that will aid in fitting this battery.
** PbEq equals Lead-Acid Equivalent. This means that a 36 AH PbEq Lithium Iron Phosphate battery will perform the same as a 36 amp hour Lead-acid battery.

Shorai Lithium 36 AH PBEq 12 Volt LiFePO4
I'm elated! I hike into a swamp over a mile to hunt. Traveling light is essential. When it's below freezing i wear a heated jacket liner to stay warm on an all day hunt. Lead acid batteries are too heavy in the 36 ah range. The manufacturer of the jacket liner only sells lithium batteries up to 8 ah. These don't last long enough and cost $24 per ah. Your 36 ah lasts all day at only a couple pounds more and the cost is less $9 per ah. Glad i found you!
Cons:
Wish you were within driving distance but then usps delivery was very speedy.

Cranking power.
The first battery charred the edge of my credit card, this one melted one end. Actually money well spent just for the satisfaction of having my motorcycles start without having to boost them on cold days and having a lot of reserve power when i accidently leave the lights on for a while.
This is my second shorai battery so i had great hopes when i ordered this one for my 1992 harley davidson flhs. I'm happy so far. I was amazed at the cranking speed as soon as i installed it on a cold day. Took the bike for a little ride and parked it for a couple of days. The real test was when i looked out in the morning and it was 31*f. This bike has 20/50 oil in it's innards and would never start since new without a charger hooked on in this weather. I went by the book. Turned on the key, cranked the engine over a couple of times, waited about 2 minutes and then was surprised, it spun fast and started right up. Amazing! After riding quite a bit and getting fully charged this battery really spins the engine over faster than any other battery i had used before including expensive harley batteries.
Cons:
Little pricey. Hopefully the expected long life will even out the extra coast.
