A Bit about Yamaha Motorcycles
Before the company started building motorcycles in 1955, Yamaha had a rich history of crafting musical instruments. Note the tuning forks in its logo.
Starting with its diminutive 125cc, two-stroke YA-1, Yamaha has expanded its portfolio significantly. Its first four-stroke engine, the XS 650 twin, was produced from 1970 to 1985.
Some of Yamaha’s achievements include the first single, rear-shock production machine on its YZ series motocross bike and multiple world championships in road-racing venues. Today, Yamaha is the second largest Japanese manufacturer of motorcycles.
