How Do You Use A Solar Battery Car Charger?

Some of our smaller solar kits designed for vehicles like the Samlex 5-watt or 10-watt solar panel come with a DC power adapter. This adapter is meant to plug into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter outlet.

First, verify that the cigarette lighter outlet is hot when the car is off. You can often use a cell phone charger while the car is off to test the outlet and see if it is live.

Once you know the outlet is hot, simply place the panel on the dashboard of your car and plug it into the DC outlet. It will then utilize sunlight to generate power, sending energy back to your vehicle.
