When a battery pack is set up in “Series” it changes the voltage of the battery pack. So if you have two batteries that are each 12v 100amps once you hook them together you now have 24v but still only 100amps. When the battery is hooked in series you have the cable going from negative to positive.

When you have a battery pack that is in “Parallel” it changes the amps and Not the voltage. So if you have a battery that is 12v 100amps once you hook them together you will have 12v 200amps.
